Emotional Support Dog

Emotional Support Dogs provide comfort and support in forms of affection and companionship for an individual suffering from various mental and emotional conditions. Unlike service dogs, they are not trained to perform specific tasks. Instead, their primary role is to be a stable and calming influence, helping to alleviate anxiety, depression, and certain phobias. Emotional support dogs do not have the same legal rights as service dogs, meaning they are not automatically allowed in all public areas under the Equality Act 2010.

Guide Dogs are trained to assist the visually impaired and blind, helping them navigate their environments safely. These dogs are trained to lead their handler around obstacles both at home and in public, alert them to curbs and steps, and assist them in orienting themselves in various settings. Guide dogs are a vital tool that enhances mobility and freedom for their handlers, ensuring greater independence in daily activities.

Diabetic Alert Dogs are trained to detect dangerously low or high blood sugar levels in their handlers before they become problematic. Using their keen sense of smell, these dogs can detect biochemical changes in the body that occur with changing glucose levels. Their alerting behaviours can include pawing, nudging, or barking to inform their handler, which can be particularly life-saving, especially during the night or in cases of hypoglycaemia unawareness.
